This is kewl..... when you record the final vocal takes watch your pitch....... You have very nice dark and sultry overtones in your voice, just remember your breathe support and think a little sharper in pitch. You’ll knock this tune out of the park.
This is a very kewl tune; I like the instrumental as well as the vocal melody/harmony arrangement. It is very smooth and groovy. Produced and mixed very well. This is very good.
Well Done

Solid, quiet storm melody.
The lyrics fit very well.
I'm not going to comment on the "draft" nature of the vocals, as that's implied. I'd like to suggest that in addition to doing the "above the melody" backing, you also layer in an "octave below" backing vocal. It might also be fun to do a "call and response" backing as an alternative.
That instrumental break is really good--very jazzy. The whole thing has a propulsive 70s groove thing going that I can't help but love. I'm looking forward to the final version of this.

I am in no way a technical expert in any field of music at all... all I know is I enjoyed listening to this, your singing sounded great.. even if it is only a rough cut.
I agree with Gene about the instrumental aspect of the song.. all sounds excellent together

No complaints about this track. I would like to hear your final vocals have a "deeper" feel/sound. You seem too "high" over the music... If that makes sense. Keep me posted on this tracks progress.

I'm gonna agree with Gene on this, your pitch is slightly off on some parts. Your emotion is there tho. The production is great, lyrically it's all good girl. Lemme know when the final version is out.

Arrangment and the production is awesome. Very nice feel to the track and with your vocal delivery. Backups and harmonies are sweet. I think you'll correct the pitchiness without a hitch. Put out a shout when your done

I am ignoring the vocals since you said they are just "scratch" vox anyways...
As far as the rest of the mix, maybe "warm it up" a bit by turning down the high frequencys (if you remain with digital all the way to the production master.)
If you have a way to do it, I'd like to see you dub this very mix AS IS directly to high speed reel-to-reel tape
...and, do it directly before cutting a production master. That way the higher frequency stuff will "soften" just a bit naturally.
If you remain digital with the mix "As Is" ...to MY ears it sounds a little to "sharp" and/or "bright".
-------
I got no comment/criticism for the performance itself because it is SPOT DEAD ON!

Firstly I would love to be producing music of this quality as a rough demo or even a final production. You are very talented.
I guess my best qualification would be to look more at the song itself.. being a songwriter in a way and all....hmmm? The lyrics are full of soul and like most of your music writen in such a way that there are songs addictive hooks bring the listener in. Now that takes a lot of talent. Again I leave after 3 listens happy I did and I look forward to seeing the final draft of an already great song.

Yes, this track has a great, happy feel to it and your vocal track has a great balance in the mix.
very good background harmonies and the lead vox track is superb.
great R&B vibe...
I almost feel like a bit of Sade in here as well(I know we all hate these comparisons but just had to say, which is a tremendous compliment BTW...)

Alright.. I am curious now. Do you work at a studio on a regular basis? This sounds so professional. Are you doing the piano, bass, etc. tracks? My only comment to this is to work on fattening up the electric piano sound.. not compression, but maybe a doubling to the back wall with another layer of e piano, like a wurlitzer, for instance, for a little more punch.. Also, the strings could be filled out a little more as well.. not louder, tho, and the placement is perfect. The arrangement, writing, and production is very good, tho. And your vocals are sizzlin! Something tells me that when you are through with this cut, it will def be slammin!! Good Luck!

Sounding very professional already, kind of Brand New Heavies vibe. Imagine you'll add some backing vocal too and this will sound even more wonderful than it is already.

Too often I feel people concentrate on technicalities and ignore the most important thing in music...magic! You certainly have that! There is a special vibe and feeling in your sound, performance and expression which is always going to be the thing that will make you stand out from the crowd I look forward to hearing the completed version Great work!

Very good bassline and organ bits in the beginning, digging it. I like the vocal style, with good rhythm and accuracy. The little sax should be much better replaced by a real one - Perhaps some variation in the chorus would help add some more dynamics to the piece.. maybe a change in the drum pattern there would be enough.

Love the feel here...
oooh, those harmonies are amazing..
You have a really sultry jazzy voice.. Love it..
I really like that bass and funky drums...
Yeah, has a really cool and tight feel.
Maybe the sax solo sound is a little week, but that's the only thing about it I can find to constructively comment on..
Your singing is superb..

Have to agree with Traf on this one, Sax is a bit too regimented; not live enough. Otherwise a beautiful composition
